Excellence must be learned, cherished and shared

Quality comes from people

In the Goretti world, every technique – from the ABS hotfix technique, to printing and lasering – is honed day after day, thus becoming ever more sophisticated and precise. Our pursuit of quality is constant, but people make the difference.

We believe that the value of a product stems from something that comes well before the production phase: it stems from the expertise that is developed with great patience, with the confident hand of a careful expert. At a time when handicraft skills are increasingly rare, hand embroiderers are a precious asset as they have mastered an art that may be lost in the future.

One of Goretti’s custodians of this art is Alessia Petricca, who sees embroidery not only as a profession, but also as a language that can tell the story of her company’s identity through the beauty of details.

A training experience made of history, places and traditions

Alessia’s journey first began at home, with threads and fabrics around her that quickly sparked her curiosity and passion. After completing her art studies, she moved to Marche, where she first discovered textile manufacturing and the professional side of embroidery.

The turning point came at the École Lesage in Paris, one of the most prestigious high fashion embroidery schools in the world, which today is part of the Chanel group.
Founded in 1992 by François Lesage and heir to a tradition that first began in 1858, the school is considered the best lunéville and needle embroidery school in the world.

Working at Lesage means working along with master embroiderers who teach techniques they have developed and honed over time, and making authentic samples that come from the huge historical archives of the maison – the largest art embroidery collection in the world. It’s a place where every stitch has a story to tell and every loom is part of a shared memory that is constantly passed on.

A tribute to Goretti and the value of manual work

After this experience, Alessia chose to dedicate a symbolic but very meaningful act to Goretti: a completely handmade embroidery on a loom representing the company logo. It’s a piece that combines technique, precision and feelings and displays the bond between training of excellence and Italy’s production tradition.

The loom creates tension in the fabric and allows for precision work, thus obtaining a homogeneous result, almost like a machine. However, what remains unique is the handicraft work behind it. Today there are fewer and fewer artisans, and I believe I must share this creativity with those who still believe in the value of manual work.” – Alessia Petricca

Growing means investing in people

Having professionals like Alessia in a company enables Goretti to meet its customers’ needs even more effectively: complex pieces of embroidery, precise details, personalised applications.

Therefore, building on the path created by #AcademyGoretti, we are preparing a new series of courses dedicated to hand embroidery. It’s an opportunity to train new professionals within the company and, together, provide new opportunities to young people in our local area who would like to discover these jobs that otherwise risk disappearing.

Investing in people means guaranteeing a type of value that can be seen and felt: a product that is about culture, technique and beauty.

A piece of embroidery is more than just a product: it’s a story that continues, stitch after stitch.
