How we celebrated Christmas and saw the year 2018 out

The year 2018 has been exciting and full of novelties for Goretti… so how could it be otherwise for the Christmas period? According to tradition, staff and employees toasted the holiday season during a dinner at Villa Honorata in Serra dei Conti, against the background of the Marche hills. There was also a surprise when, on the afternoon of the 14th of December, a group of employees walked into the main hall and found Giulia, a teacher of folk dances, waiting for them.
It was the first time that Goretti offered a workshop free of charge, open to all its employees. It was an opportunity for a brief journey to countries and cultures, some of them far away, through music which is entertaining, lively and exciting. Traditionally all popular and folk dancing was seen as a socialising and community moment after work on the farm and on special occasions (marriages, religious festivals, carnival…).

You dance in pairs and in groups, forming a line or a chain, with three or four people, in a circle, creating all sorts of shapes and choreographies involving people in a direct and immediate way. There was contact, movement, listening, fun, cohesion, commitment and concentration, always with a carefree approach.

After dinner everyone was invited to join in a series of dances led by the band, which you can also listen to from this link:
