The February 2023 edition of the Lineapelle Milano exhibition has just ended. Goretti once again took part in the show, and we are now absolutely excited, not only because of the large number of major professionals and visitors we welcomed into our spaces, but especially because of the high-quality relationships we established and the excellent feedback we gathered.
It was a wonderful feeling to say ‘welcome back’ to our many usual customers, and ‘hello, welcome!’ to the numerous new visitors approaching our stands!

And it was a wonderful surprise to find out that we entirely fulfilled a shared desire to discover new creations able to amaze, thanks to the research and experimentation efforts we make to constantly offer excellent processings and solutions that innovate craftsmanship, just as we did in the proposals we presented in the exhibition – finally, the new ‘Mani Ribelli’ (Rebellious Hands) collection has been unveiled: we are ready to guide you through each of its surprising details, between inspiration and creation. To discover the collection, simply book an appointment with us!

As Goretti, to realise ‘Mani Ribelli’ we relied on our territory in Serra de’ Conti: it was our connection with the local association TiVittori which brought us the first inspiration sparkle for the collection, a sparkle ignited by the work that TiVittori carried out for the Ar(t)s project. So we discovered in our little village an unexpected treasure that lies in the special people inhabiting it.

The collection tells the story of our meeting with four special people: ReginaErinaMafalda and Andrea. Their apparently ordinary lives turned into the heart of stories through which the valuable legacy of extraordinary rebellions is passed down to us.

Erina

Erina’s story, the story of a tailor who was also a star, welcomes us in a sparkling star world to dive in the enchantment of a dancing night, let ourselves shine, surrounded by iridescent flares and, among glimmering contrasts, wear the elegance of rebellion: Erina, a very skillful seamstress, loved dancing so much that as a young girl she defied a long distance to walk to the ballroom in the village nearby, where she could show off her beloved gowns. And even at home, after retiring, she kept her daily passion for elegance alive, to relive the dream of the glittering ballroom.

Regina

Regina’s story, one of concrete and confections, invites us to step into a joyful world and play with iridescences as colourful as candies, lose ourselves in dreams as light as candyfloss, and, among vivid and textured contrasts, honour the determination that lies in rebellion: Regina worked hard all her life, toiling in the fields or tenaciously carrying concrete to the furnace, but on festive days she always brought joy to girls and boys with her stall full of candies and toys.

Mafalda

Mafalda’s story, the story of an embroiderer and traveller, offers us a world of explorations and guides us to discover the fascinating encounter between distant cultures and, among the contrasts of evocative shades and processings, travel with the freedom that comes from rebellion. In her shop, she put her brilliant embroidery, writing and accounting skills at everyone’s service, but she made the brave choice not to marry and to remain independent out of passion. She devoted her life to getting to know countries and cultures outside her sewing shop by travelling as a trip organiser for the local bus company.

Andrea

The story of Andrea, a shoemaker and intellectual, encourages us to explore a world of generous craftsmanship to welcome the wonder generated by hands creating works of intricate marvel and, among textured contrasts, find again a collective feeling of rebellion. Andrea was a communist in his soul and, while repairing his fellow villagers’ shoes inside his shop, he used to talk to all the people waiting outside or passing by, especially about politics, for his happy childhood tormented by war had instilled in him a passion for opposing hate to pursue collective solidarity. When he was young, he played a trick on the local parish: he offered to repair his shoes and put red soles on them, so that when the parish kneeled in prayer everyone could see them; as an adult, he gathered all his love for books in a big library in his home. Even in the end Andrea remained loyal to his ideas: no flowers and no religious funeral – in their place, the wish that his ideas would keep blooming.

With Mani Ribelli not only did we create a collection, but we also started a project that unfolds itself in sharing: the extraordinary stories that inspired us would have remained just pages in a memory album without all the organisations that, with their true competence and passionate humanity, took part in the project.

Starting from the companies ArtelierMabel and Deadema, essential and vibrant members of Goretti’s networks: each one with its own, independent story, creativity and know-how, yet harmoniously coordinated by the spirit of cooperation.

Our craftspeople, who, with their valuable skills and expert hands, realise the wonder of our both handcrafted and technological creations, while smartly and wisely contributing to make the work of Goretti and its partner companies evolve.

The professional collaborations that helped fulfil this wonderful work: Èstro Lab for translating each and every nuance of our inspiration into a detailed study of the collection, Kei Kei Studio for the creative direction in transforming stories into graphic beauty for spaces and materials, Silvia Scorcella for the care she put in choosing the right words to let our work and the stories we tell reach you.

To them goes our most sincere thank you!

Always remember: every apparently ordinary life can unveil a story of extraordinary rebellion!
