‘Traits’ at Lineapelle: discovering the secret bond between writing and handcraft

Our experience at Lineapelle: a new space for us, a new collection for you

The September 2024 edition of Lineapelle has just come to an end and, like every time, Goretti is glad to have taken part in the event.

As usual, the exhibition was a valuable opportunity for us to meet many customers and collaborators, along with numerous new visitors. It was an exciting moment, as we could finally show the beauty of our applications, revealing the thrilling story that—starting from the theme chosen—gave life to our new collection: ‘Traits’.

Our stand position was one of the many innovations that characterised this edition. We were hosted in a new space, which also testified our evolution: for the first time at Lineapelle we displayed our creations in the area reserved for the MinervaHub group, an Italian industrial organisation specialised in cutting-edge finishes, materials and processes for fashion and luxury accessories, which we joined in February 2024.

So, the stand that once hosted our network now welcomes an even greater synergy: it’s a new context where, in the space reserved for us, we keep welcoming you into our world, showing you every season a new collection deriving from a special project

This time, the project which gave birth to the collection was so original that visitors who wished to do so had the chance to directly live the experience of inspiration.

Discovering the secret bond between writing and handcraft

The new collection theme derives from a reflection on ourselves that becomes a revelation! We explore what hands are able to do with their fine movements. Not only do hands operate tools, but they also activate our subconscious mind: that’s how we discover the secret bond that ties writing and handcraft: manual dexterity. In wise hands, hints of valuable truths are hidden.

This bond is revealed to us by the world of graphology, which—in the words of Girolamo Moretti, founder of the most renowned graphology academy in Italy—is an experimental science which, starting from a graphic sign drawn by a human being, is able to reveal the tendencies that nature has gifted them with’.

We trustfully embrace its function: by analysing spontaneous handwriting, graphology is able to derive an individual’s biological and psychological information, as well as information on their inclinations and creative skills, thus revealing their nature and personality.

As a matter of fact, writing is a way of expression of the human being and works through a complex functioning, since various elements interact to let hands draw words with the help of a pen. It’s a collaborative work between mind—which elaborates thoughts—will, neuromuscular system and psychic system. Thanks to this interaction, identity traits coming from the inner-self take shape in the final graphic sign.

We embrace graphology making use of its practical advantages: it’s one of the tools we employ—similarly to many organisations which share our same caring approach towards people—to discover the talents of our employees and entrust them with the most appropriate tasks, thus hitting a balance between efficiency and harmony.

The encounter between Goretti and graphology gave birth to ‘Traits’

A new chance to involve ‘our’ people, as to explore their nature and enhance their qualities.

The inspiration for ‘Traits’ derives from a wider project addressed to our employees which was developed over time and is still in place. In collaboration with the International Institute of Graphology Girolamo Moretti, located in Urbino, in the Marche region, and under the competent guidance of Fermino Giacometti, president of the Institute and renowned expert in the field, we commit to using graphology to enhance relationships and collaboration in our network.

We moved from our previous project—‘Flows’— and worked on its same raw material, turning it into something new. Together, the two collections give shape to our wider theme for 2024, aimed to put the people working in Goretti’s network at the heart of our creations. The pieces of writing collected through the anonymous surveys we carried out for ‘Flows’ underwent a graphological analysis, thus becoming ‘strokes’, graphic signs revealing the nature of their authors, giving us the chance to better know ourselves and the people around us.

In ‘Traits’, the four essential personality traits emerging from the handwritings of the companies’ employees become the protagonists of the creations: creativity, rationality, sensitivity and concreteness. These four characteristics are common to all the companies of the network, allowing them to carry out and complete production processes, and are also reflected in their employees, thus enabling them to realise the wonder of the collections.

Every company of the network shows a distinctive trait which makes it unique.

Goretti welcomes you in its world made of creative freedom, where style research opens up to experimentation through hotfix studs and rhinestones applications, and fantasy reconciles contrasts between winter colours and shiny touches.

Mabel welcomes you in its world of precise rationality, where research explores the precise geometrical shapes created by modular components and reconciles contrasts between neutral bases and shiny flashes of colours.

Artelier welcomes you in its world, where manual dexterity transforms the matter: hands create enchanting weavings and threadings and concrete colours echo the warmth of leather.

Deadema welcomes you in the fascinating world of goldsmith craftmanship, where the sensitive approach to matter shapes metals and enriches them with precious stones and crystals, thus creating an atmosphere made of winter colours interrupted by original touches.

And here comes the playful and much appreciated initiative we surprised our visitors with at Lineapelle: ‘the corner of graphology’!

At the exhibition we created a space inspired by the collection where we collected the ‘strokes’ of curious visitors: those who wished to do so wrote something for us. Their handwriting will later be privately analysed by a trusted professional, who will develop their graphological profile and send them the result of the analysis per e-mail.
